Cosma is the daughter of two parents who apparently are members of a mysterious magical order and Jaimus owed them money. For that reason, he chose to grant her a part share of the Little Shoppe of Curiosities. While Cosma doesn't know much about her parents dealings she does know they frown upon her magical powers as they were not learned from a book the way wizards should properly learn.

Cosma does also have a relationship with the Sisters of the Thorn in Grellan's Grove where she grew up. The Sisters know her to be a strong advocate for the grove, but also a bit unusual in her methods and means when getting things done.
